sa'nsayaw is a free, volunteer-run directory of open dance class schedules in Metro Manila — on the web at sansayaw.org and in the sa'nsayaw apps for iOS and Android. Browsing schedules, studios, instructors and search never needs an account. Signing in is optional: it lets you bookmark classes, follow instructors and keep a history of classes you took, on any device. This page explains what is collected in each case and how to delete it.
You can sign in with Apple, Google, or a 6-digit code sent to your email. Your account stores:
We use this only to sign you in, keep your bookmarks, follows and history in sync across your devices, and send the reminders and notifications you turn on. Login codes expire after 10 minutes. We never see or store your Apple or Google password.
On the website — sansayaw.org uses Google Analytics to understand traffic: pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, device/browser type, and referring site. Google Analytics uses cookies to do this; see Google's Privacy Policy for how Google itself handles that data. The website also uses PostHog, the same analytics tool as the mobile apps (described below), to record which pages and panels you open, what you type into search, which links and calendar actions you click, page load performance, and error reports if something breaks.
In the mobile apps— the iOS and Android apps use PostHog for analytics: a random device-generated identifier, which screens you view, what you type into search, which links and calendar actions you tap, and general interaction events. PostHog also processes your IP address to estimate an approximate location; we don't receive a precise location. It also records when an app is opened or brought back from the background, how long the schedule takes to load, and crash/error diagnostics.
When you're signed in, PostHog links these events to your random account ID, along with sign-in events (for example, which sign-in method you used). It never receives your email address or name. Signing out starts a new, unlinked identifier.
If you open the map, the app may ask for foreground location access so it can place a dot on the map and centre the map near you. Your precise or approximate device location is used only on your device for that feature. It is not sent to sa'nsayaw or PostHog, is not stored after you leave the map, and is never accessed in the background. You can deny the permission and still use schedules, search, studio pages, and widgets.
Your studio filter selections are saved locally on your device or browser (via localStorage on the web, or the device's standard app-preferences and widget storage on iOS and Android) so your choices persist between visits. That preference never leaves your device. If you sign in, your browser or app also keeps your sign-in session locally so you stay signed in; signing out removes it.
To run the features you use (signing in, bookmarks, follows, history, notifications) and to understand how the schedule and app are actually used — which studios and classes get the most attention, whether search is turning up useful results, which screens matter — so we can improve them. We don't sell any of it, we don't use your email for marketing, and we don't build advertising profiles beyond whatever Google Analytics does on its own per its standard policy.
The product relies on a few outside services, which process data on our behalf:
The app and site also link out to Google Maps, Google Calendar, Instagram, and individual studio websites. Once you tap or click through, you're on their site and their privacy policy applies — not this one.
Account data is kept until you delete your account, then removed right away. Analytics data isn't copied anywhere else by us — it lives with Google Analytics and PostHog under each provider's standard retention settings.
You can delete your account at any time: from your account in the website or app, or at sansayaw.org/account/delete. This permanently removes everything listed under “If you sign in”. If you signed in with Apple, we also revoke sa'nsayaw's access to your Apple ID.
sa'nsayaw shares its sign-in system with two other apps by the same developer, bonado and MVL. If you also use the same sign-in for one of those, deleting your sa'nsayaw account removes all your sa'nsayaw data but keeps the sign-in itself, so the other app keeps working. You can also ask us to delete your account by emailing the address below.
sa'nsayaw is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
You never need an account to use sa'nsayaw. Browser tracking-prevention or ad-blocking tools may stop Google Analytics and PostHog from running on the website. Clearing site data or app data resets locally saved studio filters. Mobile location and notification access can be changed at any time in system settings. Signed-in users can delete their account as described above.
We may update this page occasionally as the product changes. The “Last updated” date above will always reflect the most recent version.
